The sad fact is that many applicants overlook this step because they do not want to be bothered by learning how to create a resume.

Writing a resume can seem frustrating and seem to take a long time for any beginner; especially if you have no idea how a resume should look. However with all the technology that is available to us; you do not have to sit in front of your computer all day trying to get that resume to look like perfection.

One of the programs that I recommend for anyone who wants to get their resume written in less than 20 minutes and have it looking as though a professional did it for them is Amazing Resume. This program will easily get your resume complete and all you have to do is save it to your computer so that you can print it out when you need it again.

However if you want to tackle the job and learn how to create a resume yourself; then here are some important steps you should take when writing your resume.

Job History: Most employers are going to want to know at least your previous 5 - 10 years of employment history. It is important that you have their address, telephone number and even the name of the person that they can contact as a reference.

Education And Training: Do not be shy when you are listing your education and specialized training. If you have special skills; this is the time to show them off so that you can stand out above the rest of the applicants.

References: You never want to put references on your resume; however you do want to have at least 3 references that they can contact that will give a great reference on your behalf.

Remember there are thousands of other people who are learning how to create a resume and if yours does not catch their eyes in just 10 seconds; most likely you will not get that job that you want really bad.
