How To Create A Resume Part Two: How Long Should My Resume Be

Now that you have that perfect draft and you know how to create a resume it is time to type it on your computer and make it look nice and pretty so that we can start distributing it to employers so that they can consider you for that entry level job opening or any other position that you are trying to get.

You will want to go to Microsoft Word or some type of program that is similiar to that in your computer and begin typing your resume so that it looks nice and neat. When you are posting your job history and employment history do not forget to bold the title “Work History” so that the title stands out.

Many people always ask the question how long should my resume be?

Well after you have typed your resume on your question you may discover that your resume is too long. Employers are not going to look through a resume that is more than two pages long. You want to display your experience and tell them why they should hire you; however you do not want to distribute a long boring resume. Your resume will just end up in the garbage can and that is not what you want.

You should try to get your resume on one page; however if you have extensive training and other skills and it does not fit on one page then you can put it on two pages.
