Job Seekers Get Called For An Interview
Many job seekers dread the interview because they feel that they are not prepared to make a good first impression. Anyone who has been searching for a new job and is using the internet to help them find their entry level job or a new career understands that the interview can be the make it or break it point.
First of all congradulations on getting that call back that you have been waiting anxiously for. However have you been preparing yourself so that you can stand out at the interview? Many people fail to prepare themselves to stand above the other applicants. The hard core truth about job seekers getting called for an interview have no idea about how to approach it.
Here are some common mistakds that people tend to make during an interview:
Lie: People tend to believe that if they lie during the interview that will help them get the job. However the truth is that you never want to get a new job under false pretense. If the interviewer asks you a question and you do not know the answer or understand what they are talking about; then you just want to be as honest as possible and let them know that you do not understand them.
Believe me they will be glad that you were honest and did not try to make up a lie just to say what they wanted to hear. Many employers may even throw in a “trick” question to see if you are the type of person who does lie.
Research: If you want to get hired for a certain company; then it will benefit you to try to do some background research on that company so that you can learn about what they do and what they specialize in. Many job seekers tend to go to the interview without any knowledge on the company and when they are asked “why do you want to work for this company” they have no idea what to say.
Remember that this is the place where you make that first impression. You have to let the employer know that you really want this job and that you are serious. They have to believe that they can take a chance on you.
